Where is Iran?

Iran is a big country in a part of the world called West Asia. It's like a giant puzzle piece! On one side, it has a huge salty lake called the Caspian Sea. On another side, it touches two warm seas: the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. These seas are like giant bathtubs for the country!

Rocky Giants and Hidden Homes

Most of Iran is like a big, rocky table called a plateau. All around it are tall, tall mountains! These mountains are so high, they can make it tricky to travel between different parts of the country. It's like having huge walls separating different playgrounds. For a long time, towns and villages were tucked away in these mountain valleys.

Traveling Through Time

Because of the mountains, traveling in Iran used to be like an adventure! There aren't many big rivers to use for boats. Instead, people used caravans, which are like long lines of camels and donkeys carrying goods. They followed special paths through the mountain passes. It took a long time to get from one place to another!

A Country as Big as a Continent!

Iran is a super big country! It's the 17th largest country in the whole world. That's bigger than many countries you know! It has neighbors like Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan to the north, and Afghanistan and Pakistan to the east. It's a land full of amazing landscapes waiting to be discovered!
