Colorado

Colorado is a super cool state in the western United States, famous for its amazing mountains! It's like a giant playground with tall peaks, green forests, and wide-open plains. That's like, way before schools or cars! Later, people came looking for gold, and then Colorado officially became a state a long, long time ago.

The name Colorado comes from a Spanish word that means 'colored red' or 'ruddy'. This is probably because of the red rocks and soil you can find there. Colorado is also called the 'Centennial State' because it became a state exactly 100 years after the United States declared its independence. How cool is that!

Lots of people live in Colorado, and many of them live in the capital city, Denver. People who live in Colorado are called Coloradans. They work in all sorts of jobs, like helping with the government, digging for minerals, growing food, and welcoming visitors. It's a busy and exciting place to be!
