New Mexico

Imagine a giant puzzle piece in the southwestern United States! That's New Mexico. It's a landlocked state, meaning it doesn't touch any oceans.

It shares borders with other states like Texas and Arizona, and even a country called Mexico! Its biggest city is Albuquerque, but its capital, Santa Fe, is super old, like a grandparent's grandparent old! It's also the highest capital city in the whole country, reaching way up into the sky.

New Mexico is HUGE, the fifth-largest state in the US! But it doesn't have tons of people, so there's lots of wide-open space. It's like having a giant playground all to yourself!
