Arizona

Arizona is a big state in the United States, way down in the southwest. It's like a giant puzzle piece that fits next to California and Nevada. To the south, it even touches another country, Mexico! Arizona is famous for its sunny, warm weather, especially in the south where it's a desert. But guess what? In the north, it can get cold and snowy, perfect for skiing!

Arizona has some of the most amazing places you can imagine. The most famous is the Grand Canyon, a super-duper deep hole in the ground made by a river over millions of years. It's so big, it's one of the seven natural wonders of the world! There are also lots of forests with tall pine trees and mountains that reach for the sky.

The biggest city in Arizona is called Phoenix, and it's a very busy place. Many people live here, and lots of different kinds of people call Arizona home. Some people have lived here for a very, very long time, like the Native American tribes. Arizona is also home to big universities where people go to learn new things.

Arizona is a state, which means it's like a big family of towns and cities that work together. It became a state a long, long time ago, on February 14, 1912. It was the very last of the states that are all connected in the United States to join the club. Now it's a super important part of the country!
