Meet the Giant Mountains!

Imagine a super long chain of mountains, like a giant's necklace, stretching all along the eastern side of India! These are the Eastern Ghats. They are not one straight line but more like a bumpy, broken path. They start way up north and go all the way down to the very tip of India. These mountains are like a big, green hug for the land next to the Bay of Bengal.

Where Did They Come From?

These mountains are super, super old! They started forming a very, very long time ago, even before dinosaurs were around. Think of the Earth as a giant puzzle that broke apart and then came back together. The Eastern Ghats were made when parts of the Earth's crust squished and folded over millions and millions of years. They are like ancient wrinkles on the face of our planet!

Nature's Amazing Playground!

The Eastern Ghats are home to so many cool plants and animals! There are different kinds of forests, from trees that keep their leaves all year to ones that drop them. Many rivers start their journey here and flow down to the sea. Even though they are not as tall as some mountains, they help bring rain to the nearby areas, making them green and full of life.

A Home for Many!

Lots of people live near and in the Eastern Ghats. They grow food and use the wood from the trees. The mountains are important because they are part of big river systems that give water to many cities and farms. It's a place where nature and people live together, with the mountains watching over everything.
