Bengal

Imagine a big, beautiful place in South Asia, right next to a huge ocean called the Bay of Bengal. That's Bengal! Today, it's split into different parts. Some of it is the country of Bangladesh, and some is in India, like West Bengal and a little bit of Assam. It's a place full of rivers and green lands, where lots of people live and have lived for thousands of years.

Long, long ago, Bengal was home to powerful kingdoms. The Vanga Kingdom is so old, it might be where Bengal got its name! Later, big empires like the Pala Empire ruled here. Think of it like a giant playground where different teams took turns being the boss. For a while, Bengal was even the edge of the Islamic world, spreading its influence to places nearby.

After the time of kings, Bengal became a Sultanate, which means it was ruled by Sultans. It was a very rich place! Later, it became part of the big Mughal Empire. Then, things changed when the East India Company arrived. They became very powerful, and their area in Bengal grew super big, with a famous city called Calcutta as its capital. This was like a big shift in the rules of the game!

Even though Bengal is divided, its culture is still super strong! People there are famous for their beautiful stories, music, and movies. They also have brilliant thinkers who have won Nobel Prizes! Bengal is also known for being a great place for people to live, with lots of fairness and opportunities for everyone. It's a place with a rich past and a bright future!
