For a long time, they were the most numerous people living on the Crimean peninsula, like the biggest group of kids on a playground!

A Long, Long Journey

The Crimean Tatars have a very old story. Their ancestors came together over many, many years. They lived in Crimea and the lands nearby, near the Black Sea. They were known for their unique culture and traditions. For a very long time, they were the main group of people living in Crimea. It was their home, and they were proud of it.

Sad Times and Brave Hearts

Sadly, there were times when things were very hard for the Crimean Tatars. After their homeland was taken over, some people tried to make them leave. Later, during a big war, almost all of them were forced to move far away to Central Asia, like being sent to a different school across the country! Many people got lost on this difficult journey.

Coming Home Again!

After many years, the Crimean Tatars were finally allowed to start coming back to their homeland. It was a long and brave journey for them to return. Today, they are still a very important part of Crimea, and many people around the world remember their story and celebrate their culture. They are recognized as the original people of Crimea.
