Where is Bulgaria?

Imagine a country in Europe, like a puzzle piece in the southeast! Bulgaria sits near the big, blue Black Sea and is hugged by mountains. It's like a cozy corner of the continent. To its north is Romania, across a giant river called the Danube. To its south are Greece and Turkey, and to its west are Serbia and North Macedonia. It's a place with lots of neighbors!

A Land of Old Stories

Bulgaria has super old stories! People lived there even before the pyramids were built. Over thousands of years, different groups of people, like the Thracians and Romans, called this land home. Then, a group called the Bulgars arrived and helped create a powerful empire that invented a special alphabet still used today. It’s a place where history whispers from every corner.

Mountains and Seas!

Bulgaria is like a treasure chest of nature! It has tall, snowy mountains perfect for skiing and green valleys for exploring. The Balkan Mountains run right through the country, giving it its name! And don't forget the Black Sea coast, with sandy beaches where you can build sandcastles and swim. It’s a place with amazing views everywhere you look.

What Do Bulgarians Do?

People in Bulgaria love their traditions! They have colorful festivals and enjoy delicious food, like yogurt and tasty pastries. They also have a capital city called Sofia, which is the biggest and busiest place. Many people work in cities, but farming is important too, growing yummy fruits and vegetables. It’s a country with busy cities and peaceful farms.
