Shyok River

The Shyok River is like a giant blue ribbon winding through a faraway land called Ladakh, in India. It starts way up high, near a frozen wonderland called the Rimo Glacier. This river is so long, it's like traveling from your home to your grandma's house and back many, many times! It flows through rocky places and tall mountains, making its way to another big river called the Indus.

This amazing river doesn't just stop! It travels about 550 kilometers, which is longer than 500 school buses lined up end-to-end! It's a very important helper to the Indus River, like a best friend who brings lots of water. The Shyok River also has smaller river friends, like the Nubra and Galwan rivers, that join it along its journey.

Even though it's a wild place, people and animals live near the Shyok River. They have to be strong and clever to live in the mountains. The river helps them by giving them water. It's a special place that connects India and Pakistan, showing how nature can link different countries together.
