Nubra

Nubra is a super special place in a country called India, way up high in the mountains. It's like a secret garden called a valley, where two big rivers, the Nubra and the Shyok, come together. The name 'Nubra' in an old language means 'valley of flowers'!

Even though it's called the valley of flowers, it's actually very, very high up. The ground is more than 10,000 feet above the sea, which is taller than 30 giraffes stacked on top of each other!

Getting to Nubra is an adventure! You have to travel from a city called Leh, which is like the capital of this big mountain region. The most exciting way to get there is by going over a very tall mountain pass called Khardung La.

Imagine climbing a mountain that's as tall as a skyscraper! It's a bumpy ride, but the views are amazing. Because it's so special, sometimes people need a special ticket, like a VIP pass, to visit.

Nubra is famous for its two rivers, the Nubra and the Shyok. They flow through the valley, making it a special place. These rivers help create a big, wide valley that sits between two giant mountain ranges: the Ladakh Range and the Karakoram Range. These mountains are so tall they almost touch the sky! The Shyok River is also a friend to an even bigger river called the Indus River.

Nubra is a place with lots of history and people who live there. It's a part of a bigger area called Ladakh. The main town, where the boss of Nubra lives, is called Diskit. It's a long way from Leh, about as far as driving from your house to your grandma's house if she lives in another state! People here have their own special ways of living and talking.
