Where is Saskatchewan?

Saskatchewan is a big, flat province in the middle of Canada, like a giant slice of pie! It's west of Manitoba and east of Alberta. To the south, it touches the United States, like a friendly handshake.

It's one of only two Canadian provinces that don't touch the ocean, so it's landlocked, meaning no beaches here! Most people live in the sunny southern part, which looks like a huge, grassy playground.

A Land of Lakes and Fields

Did you know almost 10% of Saskatchewan is covered in sparkly blue water? That's a lot of lakes and rivers, perfect for swimming and fishing! The northern part is like a big, green forest with lots of trees, while the south is mostly flat, golden fields where yummy grains grow. It's like having two different backyards in one province!

Long, Long Ago in Saskatchewan

People have lived in Saskatchewan for thousands of years, long before anyone else arrived. Then, explorers came in boats and eventually, people decided to build homes. In 1905, Saskatchewan officially became a province, like graduating to a bigger school! It was once part of a much bigger place called the North-West Territories.

What Do People Do There?

Lots of people in Saskatchewan work on farms, growing food like wheat and canola. It's also a place where people dig for important minerals and get energy from the ground. The two biggest cities, Regina and Saskatoon, are like busy hubs where lots of people live and work. English is the main language everyone speaks.
