North America

Imagine a super-duper big playground! That's kind of like North America. It's a huge piece of land in the Northern and Western parts of our planet Earth.

It's surrounded by big blue oceans: the Arctic Ocean up north, the Atlantic Ocean on the east, and the Pacific Ocean on the west and south. To the southeast, it meets South America. It's so big, it has icy lands, sunny beaches, and tall mountains!

Long, long ago, even before your grandparents' grandparents were born, people first arrived in North America! They traveled from far away. These first people were called Indigenous peoples.

They lived here for thousands of years, learning all about the plants and animals. Later, explorers from Europe came, and then people from Africa, Asia, and other places arrived too. It's like a giant potluck where everyone brought something special!

North America is home to so many different people, and they speak lots of languages like English, Spanish, and French. People here love to learn, work, and play! They build big cities with tall buildings and also live in quiet towns and villages. There are amazing foods to eat, fun music to listen to, and exciting stories to share. It's a place full of energy and new ideas!

Did you know North America is the third-largest continent on Earth? That's bigger than many, many soccer fields put together! It has over 592 million people living here, which is a lot of friends to make. From the chilly Arctic to warm Caribbean islands, North America has all sorts of weather and landscapes. It's a place with incredible natural wonders and a rich history.
