Ranches are like super-sized farms, but instead of growing lots of vegetables, they are mostly for raising animals like cows and sheep. These animals love to munch on grass all day long! Ranches can be found in places like the western United States and Canada, where there's lots of open space for the animals to wander. It's like a big, grassy playground for livestock!

Long ago, people called cowboys and ranchers started these big farms. They had to be really good at taking care of lots of animals. They would ride horses to check on the cows and sheep, making sure they were safe and had enough to eat. Sometimes, ranches are so big, it takes a whole day just to ride around them!
