Welcome to the Garden of the Gulf!

Imagine a beautiful island shaped like a smile, floating in the big blue sea! That's Prince Edward Island, or PEI for short. It's the smallest Canadian province, like the smallest kid in class, but it's super important.

PEI is surrounded by the Gulf of St. Lawrence, which is like a giant bathtub for fish and boats. It's a place full of green fields and pretty coastlines, making it a real 'Garden of the Gulf'.

A Land of Red Sand and Stories

PEI has special red sand beaches that look like they're made of strawberry jam! The island is like one big playground, but much bigger than your school's. It's about as long as 200 school buses lined up!

For hundreds of years, people called the Mi'kmaq lived here. Then, explorers from France and Britain came, and the island got its name from a prince. It's a place where stories are as old as the rolling hills.

Potato Power!

Guess what PEI is famous for? Potatoes! They grow so many potatoes here that they could fill up a whole lot of trucks. In fact, PEI grows about a quarter of all the potatoes in Canada! People also catch yummy seafood like lobster and mussels from the ocean. These foods are sent all over, making PEI a busy place with lots of delicious exports.

Island Adventures and Friendly Faces

PEI is a happy place with friendly people. The capital city, Charlottetown, is like the island's main town where everyone gathers. Even though it's small, PEI has lots to see and do, from exploring lighthouses to enjoying fresh food. It's a place where you can learn about history, enjoy nature, and meet people who love their island home.
