Imagine a super-powerful king who lives deep under the ocean! That's Poseidon! He's one of the most important gods in ancient Greek stories. He has a long, flowing beard and carries a special three-pronged spear called a trident. With his trident, he can make huge waves crash on the shore or even shake the ground like a giant earthquake! He's like the boss of all the water on Earth.

Poseidon has some amazing superpowers! He can control the sea, making it calm and peaceful or wild and stormy. He's also the god of earthquakes, so when he stomps his foot, the land can tremble! Poseidon's main home is in his beautiful palace at the bottom of the sea. It's filled with sparkling treasures and amazing sea creatures. From his watery kingdom, he watches over sailors and fishermen. He can help them have safe journeys or cause big storms if he's angry. Many ancient Greeks built temples to honor him and asked for his protection when they sailed.

Poseidon is part of a big, powerful family of gods called the Olympians. His brothers are Zeus, the king of all gods, and Hades, who rules the underworld. Poseidon is married to Amphitrite, a sea goddess. He has many children, some of whom are also gods or heroes in Greek myths.
