Gulf of Saint Lawrence

Imagine a huge, U-shaped bathtub filled with salty ocean water! That’s kind of like the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. It’s located in Canada, in the eastern part of the country.

It’s a super big area, almost as big as a very large playground! This watery world is connected to the Atlantic Ocean, which is like the biggest ocean in the whole world. It’s a special place where freshwater from rivers meets the salty ocean water, making it a unique home for many creatures.

The Gulf of Saint Lawrence has lots of different watery neighborhoods. Some parts are very deep, like a super tall diving board, while others are shallower, like a kiddie pool. The weather can change a lot here!
