Before it was East Bengal, the land was part of a bigger place called Bengal. But then, it was divided, and the part that became East Bengal was mostly for people who practiced Islam. It was also given some land from another area called Assam. So, it was a mix of different places coming together to form this new province. Its main city was called Dacca, which is now called Dhaka.

Why Was It So Important?

East Bengal was super important because it was the most crowded place in all of Pakistan! Lots of people lived there, and it was a place where big ideas and movements happened. It was a place where important decisions were made and where people came together to share their thoughts and dreams.

Who Was In Charge?

During the time East Bengal existed, there were kings and queens, like King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II, who were monarchs of the bigger country.
