Meet the Copper Age Superstars!

Long, long ago, even before the time of castles and knights, people lived in a special time called the Copper Age. This was a super important time because humans learned a brand new trick: how to use metal! They found shiny rocks called copper ore and figured out how to heat them up until they turned into a gooey liquid.

Then, they could pour this liquid metal into molds to make all sorts of cool things. It was like magic, but it was science!

Where Did This Copper Magic Happen?

The Copper Age didn't start in just one place. It popped up in different parts of the world at different times. Think of it like different playgrounds where kids invented new games.

In places like the Middle East, people started using copper around 5,000 years before now. Later, other places like Europe and Asia also began their own Copper Age adventures. They weren't all talking to each other, but they were all discovering the amazing power of copper!

Why Copper Was a Big Deal!

Before copper, people mostly used stone for their tools and weapons. Stone tools were okay, but they could break easily. Copper was much better! It was stronger, and people could shape it into sharper points for spears or into beautiful jewelry. This meant they could hunt better, build things more easily, and even make pretty necklaces and bracelets. It was a huge step forward for everyone!

Making Awesome Copper Stuff!

How did they make these amazing copper things? First, they had to find copper rocks, which are called ores. Then, they built special ovens, like super hot campfires, to melt the ore.

It took a lot of heat! Once the copper was liquid, they poured it into carved stone molds. When it cooled down, they had a copper axe, a pot, or even a fancy pin!

This was the very beginning of making things from metal, which changed the world forever.
