Where is This Magical Place?

Anatolia is like a big, pointy finger of land sticking out from Asia towards Europe. It's mostly the country of Turkey today! It's surrounded by the blue Mediterranean Sea to the south, the sparkly Aegean Sea to the west, and the deep Black Sea to the north. It's a very special spot where Asia and Europe almost touch!

When Did People First Live Here?

A super, super long time ago, even before castles and knights, people in Anatolia learned how to grow their own food! They were some of the first farmers ever. Then, their families moved all over Europe, teaching everyone how to plant seeds and grow yummy crops. So, people in Europe today have farmers from Anatolia to thank!

Who Were the First Neighbors?

Long ago, many different groups of people lived in Anatolia. There were the Hattians, and then people who spoke languages like Hittite and Lydian. Later, people who spoke Greek arrived, and then the Seljuk Turks. It was like a big meeting place for people from all over!

What's it Like Today?

Today, Anatolia is a busy place with lots of people living there. They still farm, and they also build things and make cool stuff. The land has tall mountains and beautiful coastlines. It's a place where ancient history meets modern life, making it super interesting!
