Imagine a giant puzzle piece in the corner of South America! That's Colombia. It has a long coastline on the Caribbean Sea, like a big blue playground, and another one on the Pacific Ocean.

To its east is Venezuela, and to its south are Brazil and Peru. It's a big country, almost as big as Texas and California put together! Its capital city is Bogotá, which is high up in the mountains, like a city in the clouds.

Colombia is like a super-duper nature park! It has parts of the huge Amazon rainforest, where you can find colorful birds and playful monkeys. It also has tall mountains, sunny beaches, and even dry deserts. This makes it a home for more kinds of animals and plants than almost anywhere else on Earth. It’s like having a zoo, a jungle, and a beach all in one country!

Long, long ago, before anyone else arrived, amazing Indigenous people lived in Colombia. Then, explorers from Spain came and stayed for a long time. Later, people came from Africa and other parts of the world, bringing their own music, food, and traditions. This mix of people makes Colombia a super interesting place with lots of different ways to celebrate and live.

People in Colombia love to work and play! Many people grow delicious coffee beans that are sent all over the world. Others work in cities, building amazing things and sharing their art. They also love to dance to lively music and eat yummy food like arepas (corn cakes) and bandeja paisa (a big plate of food). It’s a place full of energy and fun!
