The Hurrians made their homes in a few different places. One of their very first important cities was called Urkesh. They also lived in areas that are now known as northern Syria and upper Mesopotamia.

Imagine a big playground area, and they lived all around the edges of it! Their biggest and most famous kingdom was called Mitanni. It was like the biggest treehouse on the playground, where everyone gathered.

The Hurrians were really good at telling stories and had their own special gods. They told so many stories that some of them even became part of the stories of other groups of people, like the Hittites!
