Meet the Armenians!

Imagine a group of people who are super proud of their history and culture! That’s the Armenians. They come from a special place called the Armenian Highlands.

Many Armenians live in the country of Armenia, but lots of them also live in other countries all around the world, like in Russia, the United States, and France. It’s like having friends from all over the planet who share a special connection!

A Language All Their Own!

Armenians have their very own language, which is called Armenian. It sounds unique and has a special alphabet that looks like cool symbols! This alphabet was invented a super long time ago, in the year 405 AD, by a smart person named Mesrop Mashtots. Think of it like a secret code that only Armenians can read and write, making their stories and traditions last for ages.

First to Believe!

Guess what? Armenia was the very first country in the whole world to decide that Christianity would be its main religion! This happened a long, long time ago, even before many other countries. Two of Jesus’s friends, St. Thaddeus and St. Bartholomew, helped spread the word about Christianity in Armenia. This makes their church, the Armenian Apostolic Church, one of the oldest churches ever!

Sharing Their Stories Everywhere!

Even though many Armenians live far from their homeland, they keep their culture alive! They share their traditions, music, and delicious food with others. The Armenian alphabet helps them share their stories, and their ancient Christian faith connects them. It’s like a big, extended family that spans across continents, always remembering where they came from.
