Fun Fact
ALBA is like a big neighborhood club for countries in Latin America and the Caribbean!

What is ALBA All About?

ALBA is like a special club for countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. It's a way for them to work together and be friends. They share ideas about how to make life better for everyone.

Think of it like a big team where everyone helps each other out, especially with sharing things and making sure everyone has what they need. It started with just two countries, Cuba and Venezuela, but now more countries are part of this friendly team!

How Did This Club Start?

A long, long time ago, in 2004, two countries named Cuba and Venezuela decided to start this club. They wanted to be even better friends and help each other more. They thought it would be super smart for countries nearby to join them.

So, they invited other countries in their part of the world to become members. It was like inviting classmates to join a special project at school, but for countries!

Why Is ALBA So Important?

ALBA is important because it helps countries share and trade things they need. Instead of always buying from far away, they can trade with their neighbors. This helps everyone's economy grow, like when you share your toys and everyone gets to play.

It also means they can work together on big ideas to make sure people have good schools and healthcare. It’s all about being good neighbors and supporting each other.

Who's In the ALBA Club?

Right now, there are ten countries that are full members of ALBA. These are Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Venezuela. Imagine them all sitting around a big table, planning fun and helpful things together! Sometimes, other countries can join as guests to learn and maybe become friends too.
