Abdul Hamid II

Abdul Hamid II was a Sultan, which is like a king, of a huge empire called the Ottoman Empire. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1842! He ruled for many years, and during his time, lots of amazing things were built.

He really liked trains and helped build many railway lines across his lands, connecting faraway places. He also loved building schools and hospitals to help people. He was a busy leader who wanted to make his country stronger and more modern.
