Young Turks

The Young Turks were a group of people who lived a long time ago in a big empire called the Ottoman Empire. They didn't like how the leader, the Sultan, was making all the rules by himself. They wanted the people to have a say in how the country was run, like having a president or a prime minister make decisions with others.

They believed that having a constitution, which is like a rulebook for the country, would make things fairer for everyone.

These Young Turks were like a secret club at first. Many of them were students or soldiers who were educated and wanted to see their country become stronger and more modern. They believed that if everyone in the empire worked together, no matter their background, they could solve problems.

The Young Turks worked hard to make their ideas happen. They organized and eventually led a big change called a revolution in 1908. This was like a huge wake-up call for the old way of doing things! After this, they helped start a new time where people could vote and have different political parties, which was very exciting for the country.

Even though the Young Turks were a specific group from history, the name 'Young Turk' is still used today! It means someone who is eager to make big, fast changes and improvements in a group or organization.
