Wind power by country

Imagine giant pinwheels, but super-duper big! These are called wind turbines, and they spin when the wind blows. In recent years, countries like China and India have started building lots and lots of these wind turbines. They are adding more than half of all the new wind power in the world! It's like a race to see who can build the most to catch the wind's energy.

Using wind to make electricity is super cool because it's clean! It doesn't make the air yucky like some other ways of making power. In 2023, wind power helped make about 7.8% of all the electricity used around the whole world. That's a lot of clean energy! Some countries are really good at using wind power, like Denmark, where most of their electricity comes from spinning turbines.

Did you know that wind power is used in more than half of all the countries? China is a super-duper leader, having over 40% of the world's wind power in 2023! That's like having more than 4 out of every 10 giant windmills. Latvia had the biggest jump in wind power in 2022, growing by a huge 75%. It's amazing how much wind power is growing everywhere!
