Who Was This Guy, Molotov?

Imagine a very important helper for the leader of a big country called the Soviet Union. That was Vyacheslav Molotov! He was born a long, long time ago, in 1890.

He was a politician, which means he helped make rules and decisions for his country. He was so important that he worked with Joseph Stalin, who was the main leader for many years. Molotov was like Stalin's right-hand man, helping him with all sorts of big jobs.

Molotov's Big Jobs!

Molotov had many important jobs. For a long time, he was like the boss of all the government workers, kind of like a principal of a huge school! He also became the Minister of Foreign Affairs, which meant he talked to leaders from other countries.

He did this for many years, even during a very big war called World War II. He was also one of the first people to sign a very important agreement with another country.

A Friend of Stalin

Molotov was one of Joseph Stalin's closest friends and helpers. He joined a special club called the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party when he was just a teenager. He got into trouble a few times for his ideas, but he kept working hard.

When Stalin became the main leader, Molotov was right there with him, helping him make big changes in the country, like how farms were run. He was a very powerful person for a very long time.

What Happened Later?

After Stalin passed away, Molotov kept working. But then, a new leader named Nikita Khrushchev came along. Molotov didn't agree with some of Khrushchev's new ideas, especially about Stalin.

He even tried to help stop Khrushchev from being the leader! Because of this, Molotov lost his important jobs and was sent far away to a country called Mongolia to work. He stayed true to his old ideas until he passed away in 1986.
