Meet the Mighty Kingdom of Silla!

Silla was a powerful kingdom that existed a super long time ago, from before you were born until your grandparents' grandparents were born! It was located in the southern and middle parts of a country called Korea. Think of it like a big, important land with its own rulers and people.

Silla was one of three big kingdoms that were neighbors, like friends who sometimes played together and sometimes had big games to see who was the best!

Who Were the Kings and Queens?

The leaders of Silla were called kings, and they came from special families. For a long, long time, families with the last names Park and Seok were in charge. Then, a family named Kim took over and ruled for almost 600 years!

That's longer than most schools have been around. These kings had different titles, like 'Geoseogan' or 'Isageum,' which sounded very important and meant they were the top boss!

How Silla Became Super Big!

Silla started as a smaller group of people, like a neighborhood. But they were very good at working together and grew stronger. They even took over other nearby groups, like the Gaya confederacy.

Later, Silla made friends with powerful countries far away, like China. With their help, Silla became so strong that it conquered the other two Korean kingdoms, Baekje and Goguryeo, and ruled most of the Korean peninsula!

A Kingdom That Lasted Forever (Almost!)

Silla was amazing because it lasted for nearly 1,000 years! That's a really, really long time. Eventually, the kingdom started to break apart into smaller pieces, like a puzzle. But the memory of Silla lived on, and it's remembered as a very important part of Korean history. It's like a giant story from the past that teaches us about how kingdoms can grow, change, and last for ages!
