Where Did the Romans Come From?

Long, long ago, a powerful empire called Rome decided to explore and take over new lands. One of these lands was an island called Britain. The Romans were super brave and had amazing armies. They sailed across the sea in big boats to start their adventure. This was the beginning of the Roman conquest of Britain, when Roman soldiers came to rule over most of the island.

A Big Fight for Britain!

The people who already lived in Britain, called Britons, didn't always want the Romans to take over. There were some big battles! The Romans, led by brave generals, fought hard. They won many fights and slowly took control of the land. It was like a giant game of chess, but with real soldiers and real land!

New Roads and New Towns!

When the Romans took over, they built amazing things. They built straight, strong roads that are still there today! They also built new towns and forts to keep their soldiers safe. One famous town they built was Londinium, which is now the huge city of London! The Romans brought their own ways of living and their own language.

Did Everyone Like the Romans?

Not everyone was happy about the Romans being there. Sometimes, the Britons would fight back. There was a famous leader named Boudica who led a big rebellion against the Romans. Even though the Britons fought bravely, the Romans were very organized and eventually controlled most of Britain for a very long time.
