Where is Wales?

Imagine a country shaped like a dragon's tail, wagging off the side of Great Britain! That's Wales! It's part of the United Kingdom, a big island nation.

To its east is England, and all around it is the sparkling blue sea. Wales has lots of hills and mountains, perfect for climbing and exploring. The weather can be a bit rainy, but it makes everything super green and lush, like a giant, beautiful garden!

Castles and Knights!

Wales is famous for its castles, more than almost anywhere else in the world! Some are super old, like giant stone toys built by kings and queens long, long ago. You can visit them and pretend you're a knight or a princess. Many of these castles are on hills, so they look like they're watching over the land. Imagine living in a castle with huge walls and towers – it must have been so exciting!

Singing and Dragons!

People in Wales love to sing! They have special songs and love to gather together to sing them. And guess what? The flag of Wales has a big, red dragon on it! Dragons are a very important symbol for Wales, and people love to tell stories about them. The Welsh language is also very special and sounds a bit like magic words. It's one of the oldest languages in Europe!

What Do People Do?

Many people in Wales work with the land, like farming sheep and cows. Sheep are everywhere, munching on the green hills! Others work in towns and cities, making things or helping people. Some people work in tourism, showing visitors all the amazing castles and beautiful mountains. It’s a place with a lot of history and natural beauty, so there’s always something interesting to see and do.
