Menachem Begin

Imagine a very important person who helped start a new country called Israel! That was Menachem Begin. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1913, in a place called Poland. Later, he moved to Israel and became a big leader. He was like the captain of a team, making big decisions for his country. He even became the Prime Minister, which is like the president or the main boss of the country!

Before Israel was a country, Menachem Begin was the leader of a group called the Irgun. They were like a special team that wanted to make sure Jewish people had their own safe place. They fought against the British people who were in charge of the land back then.

One of the most amazing things Menachem Begin did was help make peace with a neighboring country, Egypt. He met with their leader, Anwar Sadat, and they signed a special agreement.
