Manmohan Singh

Imagine a super smart person who loved numbers and figuring out how to make things work better. That was Manmohan Singh! He was born a long, long time ago in a place that is now Pakistan.

When he grew up, his family moved to India. He studied really hard and became an expert in economics, which is all about money and how countries use it. He was so good that he eventually became the leader of India, called the Prime Minister!

Manmohan Singh wasn't always a leader. First, he was a student, and then he worked for big important places like the United Nations. He also worked for the Indian government, helping them make smart money decisions.

He was like a financial wizard! He even became the governor of India's main bank, the Reserve Bank. Then, he became the Finance Minister, which is like the boss of all the country's money.

He made big changes that helped India's economy grow!

For ten whole years, from 2004 to 2014, Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister of India. That's as long as you've been in school, maybe even longer! During his time, he helped start some amazing projects.

One was a program to help people in the villages get healthcare, and another helped people get jobs. He also helped make sure everyone had a special ID number, like a super-secret code for each person!

Manmohan Singh was very special because he was the first and only Prime Minister of India who was Sikh. He was also a very calm and thoughtful leader. Even though he was a powerful Prime Minister, he was known for being humble. He showed everyone that you can be a strong leader by being smart, kind, and dedicated to helping your country.
