Guanahani: The First Land in a New World!

Guanahani is a special island in a place called the Bahamas. The Bahamas are like a necklace of islands in a big, blue ocean. Guanahani is shaped like a yummy bean! It's a warm place with sunny skies and beautiful beaches. Think of it as a tropical playground where the sand is soft and the water is clear and inviting.

A long, long time ago, in 1492, a brave explorer named Christopher Columbus sailed his ships across the ocean. He was looking for new lands. One sunny morning, his crew spotted Guanahani! It was the very first land they saw in this new part of the world. Columbus was so excited, he even gave it a new name: San Salvador.

Guanahani is a place where people live and work. The people who lived there first had their own special name for it, Guanahani, which means 'small upper waters land'. Today, the island Columbus visited is called San Salvador Island. People live there, and it's a place that welcomes visitors. It's still a beautiful island with lots to see. Even though it's a small island, it has a very big story because it was the first place Columbus landed in the Americas!
