The Gobi Desert: A Giant Land of Sand and Stone!

The Gobi Desert is a super-duper big place found in two countries: Mongolia and China. It's so large that it’s the sixth-biggest desert in the whole world! The word 'Gobi' comes from a language called Mongolian. In Mongolia, 'gobi' is used to describe any place that doesn't have much water. So, when people say 'Gobi Desert,' they mean a big, dry area. In China, 'gobi' is used for deserts that are more rocky than sandy, which is exactly what the Gobi Desert is like!
