Where is Estonia? A Northern Adventure!
Estonia is a cool country way up north in Europe, like a little secret hideaway! It has a long coastline along the Baltic Sea, which is like a giant bathtub. To the north, you can see Finland across a big stretch of water called the Gulf of Finland.
To the west, Sweden is just a boat ride away. Estonia isn't just one piece of land; it's made up of a big mainland, two large islands named Saaremaa and Hiiumaa, and over 2,300 tiny islands! That's more islands than you have fingers and toes, and then some!
Long, Long Ago in Estonia!
People have lived in Estonia for a super, super long time, even before the dinosaurs were gone! For a long time, Estonians had their own special beliefs, and they were one of the last places in Europe to start celebrating holidays like Christmas. Later, different countries ruled Estonia, like Sweden and Russia.
But the Estonians always remembered who they were and wanted their own country. They finally got their wish and became independent, which means they got to make their own rules!
Estonian Superpowers: Singing and Tech!
Estonians are famous for their amazing singing! They even had a special time called the Singing Revolution where thousands of people sang together to get their freedom back. They also love technology!
Estonia is like a real-life video game world where everything is connected online. They have super-fast internet and lots of cool tech companies. Their capital city, Tallinn, has a beautiful old town that looks like it's from a fairytale, with tall towers and cobblestone streets.
Who Lives in Estonia?
About as many people as live in a big city like Las Vegas live in all of Estonia! The main language they speak is called Estonian, and it sounds a bit like Finnish. Most Estonians are very friendly and proud of their country.
They have a government that works like a team, and they try to be fair and honest. Estonia is also known for having great schools where kids learn a lot, especially about computers and new ideas.
