Meet the East African Team!

The East African Community, or EAC, is like a special club for eight countries in Africa. These countries are the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Somalia, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, and Tanzania. They all work together to make their region stronger and better for everyone. It’s like a group of friends deciding to build the best playground together!

A Team That Came Back Stronger!

This team wasn't always together. It started way back in 1967, but then the members stopped working together in 1977. That's like a team breaking up! But guess what? They decided to try again and got back together on July 7, 2000. They learned from the past and came back even stronger, like a superhero returning after a break.

Why Being a Team is Super!

Being part of the EAC helps these countries a lot. They can share things more easily, like toys or snacks, which means they can trade goods and services without too many problems. This helps their economies grow, like planting seeds that grow into big, yummy fruit trees. It also means people can travel and work more freely between these countries.

Dreaming of One Big Country!

The EAC has a big dream: to become one big, united country called the East African Federation! Imagine if all your friends lived in one giant house where you could play anytime. They are working towards this by making it easier to share things and even thinking about having one special money, like everyone using the same coins. Their main meeting place is in Arusha, Tanzania.
