Somalia

Somalia is a country in Africa that looks like a pointy horn sticking out! It has a super long coastline, which is like the longest sandy beach on the mainland of Africa. That means lots of sunshine and ocean waves!

It's located in a part of Africa called the Horn of Africa, and it has neighbors like Ethiopia and Kenya. The big blue oceans nearby are the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. It's a sunny place with warm weather.

Long, long ago, Somalia was a busy place for trading. People sailed there from far away to buy and sell things. In the olden days, powerful Somali rulers built big empires, like kings and queens of the land!

They were very important in the region. Later, other countries came and took control, but in 1960, Somalia became its own independent country. It has a rich history filled with brave leaders and exciting times.

Most people in Somalia are ethnic Somalis, which means they share a lot of the same culture and language. Their main language is called Somali, but they also speak Arabic. Many people in Somalia are Muslim, and they have strong connections to other Arab countries.

The capital city is called Mogadishu, and it's a very big and busy place where lots of people live and work. It's a country with a strong sense of community.

Many Somalis work with animals, like raising sheep and goats. They also get help from family members who live in other countries and send money back home. Even though it's a developing country, they have modern things like phones and internet!

They trade with other countries and are part of big groups like the United Nations, which helps countries work together. It's a place where people are resourceful and connected.
