Commonwealth Realm

There are 15 countries that are like a special club called Commonwealth realms. In all these countries, the same person is the King or Queen! Right now, that's King Charles III. It's like having the same principal at 15 different schools! For most of these countries, a special helper called a Governor-General represents the King or Queen, kind of like a class monitor for the country.

A long, long time ago, some countries used to be part of the British Empire. They started to become more independent, like a teenager getting more freedom. In 1931, a big agreement said these countries were equal but still shared a King or Queen. It's like a group of friends who all agree to follow the same leader for fun games, even when they play separately.

Being a Commonwealth realm means these countries have a special connection. It shows they share a history and some similar ideas. It’s like being in a family where everyone has the same grandparent, even if they live in different houses. This connection helps them work together on important things, like sharing ideas and helping each other out.

You might know some of these countries! There's Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, which are super far away. There are also islands like Jamaica and The Bahamas, and even places like Belize. The newest member is Saint Kitts and Nevis, which joined in 1983. It's like a big, diverse family spread all over the world!
