Alexandra was born a princess in Denmark a long, long time ago, in 1844. Her dad, Prince Christian, was chosen to be the King of Denmark, which was a big surprise! When Alexandra was just 16, she was picked to marry Prince Albert Edward, who was going to be the King of the United Kingdom.

It was like a royal fairy tale! She became the Princess of Wales and later the Queen of the United Kingdom and Empress of India!

Alexandra was the Princess of Wales for a super long time, from 1863 to 1901. That's longer than most people stay in school! Everyone loved her. Ladies who wanted to be fashionable copied her clothes and how she carried herself. She was like a royal fashion icon! When her husband became King Edward VII, Alexandra became Queen. She was also the Empress of India! That means she was a queen of two very big places. After her husband passed away, she became the Queen Mother. She lived a very long life, until she was 80 years old, and saw many amazing changes in the world.

Alexandra was born in Denmark, a beautiful country in Europe. Her family was chosen to become the royal family of Denmark. Later, her brother became the King of Greece! So, she had royal connections all over Europe. She lived in grand palaces and was part of a very important royal family that shaped history.
