It was a time when lots of new inventions were made, and Britain became a much bigger country.

A Royal Wedding and a Big Family!

Queen Victoria fell in love and married her cousin, Prince Albert. They had nine children! These children grew up and married princes and princesses from other countries all over Europe. This made Queen Victoria known as the 'grandmother of Europe'! It was like a giant royal family tree connecting many countries. Even though she was a queen, she was also a mom and a wife.

When Albert Was Gone...

Sadly, Prince Albert got very sick and passed away. Queen Victoria was so sad that she wore black clothes for the rest of her life. She didn't go out in public very much for a long time. This made some people a little grumpy, but later on, everyone remembered how much she loved Albert and how important he was to her. Her people loved her very much.

A Queen for a New Age!

During Queen Victoria's time, amazing things happened! Trains started chugging across the land, and factories began making all sorts of new things. Britain's empire grew bigger and bigger, reaching far across the seas. Queen Victoria was a symbol of her country, and people looked up to her.
