Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is a super old and super big castle in England, not too far from London. It's like a giant playground for royalty! It's been a home for English kings and queens for so, so long, almost a thousand years. That's longer than your grandparents' grandparents have been alive! It's a place filled with amazing stories and beautiful rooms.

A long, long time ago, a king named William the Conqueror built this castle. He wanted to make sure his kingdom was safe. The first castle was made of wood and earth, like a big pile of dirt with a fence. Over many years, it was rebuilt with strong stone, making it a super safe place. It even survived big fights and sieges!

Inside Windsor Castle are rooms so fancy they look like they're from a fairytale! These rooms are decorated with amazing art and furniture. There's also a very special church called St. George's Chapel. It's like a masterpiece made of stone, with amazing tall windows. It's where many important royal events have happened.

Windsor Castle has seen so many changes! Kings and queens have lived here, made it bigger, and decorated it in different styles. During a big war, it was even used as a place for soldiers. Today, it's still a special place for the royal family and a fun place for people to visit and learn about history.
