Canada is a super big country with lots of different places for animals and plants to live! Imagine a giant playground stretching from the chilly Arctic to warmer spots. There are fluffy white snow lands called tundra, huge green forests, and even grassy fields.

These places are called ecosystems, and Canada has 20 of them! That's like having 20 different kinds of backyards for wildlife to explore and call home.

Tiny Critters and Big Trees!

Did you know that most of the animals in Canada are tiny bugs? Almost 70 out of every 100 animals are insects! But Canada also has enormous forests, covering about half of the country. These forests are so big, they make up 8% of all the forests in the whole world! It’s like having a giant green blanket covering the land, perfect for squirrels to scamper and bears to roam.

Special Canadian Secrets!

Some animals and plants are so special, they can ONLY be found in Canada! There are over 300 kinds of these unique creatures. It’s like having secret treasures that belong just to Canada. Sadly, some animals are in danger, but people are working hard to protect them in special parks. About 65 out of every 100 animals are safe and sound in their homes.

A World of Life!

Canada is home to over 80,000 different kinds of living things, and scientists think there are even more waiting to be discovered! This is called biodiversity. It means there's a huge variety of life, from tiny little protozoa to big plants. It’s like a giant puzzle with millions of pieces, and each piece is a unique plant or animal making Canada’s nature amazing.
