Venezuelan Declaration of Independence

Once upon a time, Venezuela was like a kid living in someone else's house for a super long time, about 300 years! Then, on July 5, 1811, some brave grown-ups wrote a very important paper. This paper was like a giant 'We're moving out!' note to the King of Spain. It said Venezuela was going to be its own country, like choosing your own toys to play with instead of sharing all the time.

This special paper, called the Declaration of Independence, had some amazing ideas! It said everyone in Venezuela should be treated the same, like all kids getting a turn on the swings. It also said people could say what they think without getting in trouble, which is called freedom of expression. These were big, new ideas that were very different from how things were before.
