Who Was Tilikum?

Tilikum was a very big orca, also called a killer whale! He was born a long, long time ago, around 1981. Orcas are super smart and have black and white markings. Tilikum was so big, he was longer than a school bus! He spent most of his life in places called aquariums, where people could see him swim and play.

Tilikum's Big Adventure!

Imagine being born in the cold ocean and then moving to a new home! Tilikum was born in Iceland, a country far away. When he was a little whale, he was moved to a place called Sealand in Canada. Later, he moved to SeaWorld in Florida, where he lived for many years and had lots of baby orcas!

Orca Superpowers!

Orcas are amazing swimmers and can dive super deep. They are also very clever hunters in the wild, working together to catch fish and other sea animals. Tilikum, like other orcas, had a special dorsal fin that stood up tall. In the wild, orcas live in big families called pods and talk to each other with clicks and whistles.

A Story to Remember

Tilikum's story is important because it helps us learn about orcas. He was part of a movie that made lots of people think about how animals live in aquariums. It's good to learn about these incredible creatures and how we can help protect them in their ocean homes.
