The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is like a big, global family! People who belong to this church believe in Jesus Christ and try to live like he taught. They have special places called temples where they go to learn and feel close to God. It's a Christian church, and its members are found all over the world, from big cities to small towns.

Besides the Bible, members of this church have other books they believe are important. One is called the Book of Mormon. It tells stories about people who lived long ago in ancient America and how they knew Jesus. They also have books called the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price, which they believe contain messages from God.

A long, long time ago, in 1830, a man named Joseph Smith started this church. He believed that God and Jesus Christ spoke to him and told him how to start it. The church moved to different places, and eventually, its main home became Salt Lake City, Utah. It has grown a lot since then, with millions of members today!

Many young men and women who are part of this church become missionaries. They travel to different places to share their beliefs and help people. They also do lots of good things to help others, like giving food or clothes to people who need them. It’s all about spreading kindness and love!
