Syrian Civil War

Once upon a time, in a country called Syria, people weren't happy with their leader. They wanted to have more say in how their country was run, like choosing their own playground rules! So, they started protesting, which means they gathered together to show they were unhappy.

But instead of listening, the leader's forces used force, and this turned into a big, long fight called a civil war. It was like a disagreement between friends that got way too big.

It wasn't just one big team fighting another. There were many groups! Some people wanted to keep the old leader, and others wanted a new one.

Then, other countries started helping different sides, like friends choosing teams in a game. Some groups even popped up that were very extreme, like a bully taking over the whole playground. This made the fight even more complicated and dangerous for everyone.

This big fight began way back in March 2011. Think of it like a really long school year that just kept going and going! It lasted for almost 14 years. During that time, cities changed, and people had to move away from their homes. It was a very difficult period for Syria, with many sad events happening over those many years.

After a very long time, in December 2024, the leader who had been in charge for so long finally left. This was a huge change! It meant the big fight was mostly over, and a new government started to take charge. It was like the end of a very long, tough game, and everyone hoped for peace and a chance to rebuild their homes and lives.
