Sumatran Tiger

Imagine a big, powerful cat with beautiful orange fur and dark stripes, like a secret code! That's the Sumatran tiger. They live on a big island called Sumatra, which is covered in thick, green forests. These tigers are amazing at hiding, using their stripes to blend in with the trees and shadows. They are the only tigers left in this part of the world, making them extra special!

Sumatran tigers are carnivores, which means they only eat meat. They are super hunters and love to eat animals like wild pigs and deer. They are very strong and can catch prey that is even bigger than them! After a successful hunt, they like to eat their meal in a safe, hidden spot. They are very careful eaters and make sure to get all the energy they need from their food.

Sumatran tigers are usually solitary, meaning they like to live and hunt by themselves. But sometimes, a mother tiger will have cubs! Baby tigers, called cubs, are born very small and helpless. The mother tiger takes great care of them, teaching them how to hunt and survive in the jungle. They stay with their mom for a couple of years before going off to start their own lives.

Sadly, there aren't many Sumatran tigers left in the wild. They are endangered, which means they are in danger of disappearing forever. This is because their forest homes are getting smaller. It's super important for us to help protect these amazing animals so they can keep roaming the jungles of Sumatra for a long, long time!
