Female

Girls and women are called females. They are a big part of the human family! Just like boys and men are called males, females have special things that make them unique. Think about how some animals have boy and girl versions, like lions and lionesses. Humans are like that too! Being female is a natural and wonderful way to be.

When a baby is growing inside its mom's tummy, it starts out as a tiny speck. The body of the baby grows and changes. A baby that grows up to be a girl or woman has a special part inside called an ovary. These ovaries have tiny eggs. When one of these eggs joins with a tiny part from a male, a baby starts to grow!

One of the most amazing things females can do is carry and grow a baby inside them. This is a super special job that only females can do. It takes a lot of energy and care. After the baby is born, moms often feed their babies with milk from their bodies, which is another amazing superpower!

You see females everywhere! They are your moms, grandmas, sisters, aunts, and friends. They are teachers, doctors, artists, and builders. Just like males, females can do anything they set their minds to. They bring different ideas and strengths to our families and communities, making everything richer.
