Steve grew up in a special place called Australia Zoo, which his parents started. His dad taught him all about reptiles, especially crocodiles, from a very young age. He learned to be brave and respectful around these amazing creatures.
As he got older, he and his wife, Terri, took over the zoo and made it even bigger and better. They also had two children, Bindi and Robert, who grew up loving animals just like their dad!

He wanted everyone to see that animals are not scary, but wonderful creatures that deserve to be protected. He even had a special snail named after him, the Crikey steveirwini!

Steve Irwin showed millions of people that animals are precious and need our care. He taught us to respect all living things, from the tiniest insect to the biggest crocodile. Even though he's not with us anymore, his message lives on!
His family still runs Australia Zoo, and they continue his work to save animals and their homes. Steve Irwin proved that you can be brave, have fun, and be a champion for wildlife all at the same time!
