Meet the Emperor Who Loved Walls!
Septimius Severus was a Roman emperor, like a king of a giant empire! He was born a long, long time ago in a place called Leptis Magna, which is in Africa. When he grew up, he became a soldier and worked his way up to become the boss of the whole Roman Empire. He was a strong leader who liked to build and fix things, especially big walls to protect his lands.
A Soldier's Journey to the Top!
Septimius Severus had to fight to become emperor. After the last emperor died, many generals wanted to be in charge. Septimius Severus was the best fighter and strategist. He defeated his rivals in big battles, like one called the Battle of Lugdunum. He was like the star player who wins the championship game for his team. He made sure everyone knew he was the real emperor!
Building Big and Fighting Far!
This emperor was a busy builder! He traveled all the way to Britain to make Hadrian's Wall even stronger. It's a super long wall, like a giant snake made of stone! He also went to war in faraway lands, like Parthia, and even explored parts of Africa. He was always looking for ways to make the Roman Empire bigger and safer.
His Sons Took Over!
Septimius Severus had two sons, Caracalla and Geta. He made them co-emperors so they could rule with him. When he died, his sons became the new emperors. This started a new family of emperors called the Severan dynasty. They were the last emperors before a time of trouble in the Roman Empire.
